Boomi alternative — Boomi vs Skippr
Boomi is two products under one brand. AtomSphere Integration is iPaaS: you draw a process, an Atom (or Molecule, or runtime cloud attachment) runs it. Editions are Base through Enterprise Plus. Connector count is licensed (2 standard on Base, 15/30 on Enterprise Plus). Enterprise connectors (SAP, Oracle) are extra until the higher editions. Subscription price is quote. Pay-As-You-Go is the public card: 99 USD a month plus 0.05 USD per Boomi Message. A Message is one document in or out of Integration, Flow, APIM, Hub, or EDI. The 99 USD floor still bills at zero Messages. Data Catalog and Preparation is not in PAYG. Data Integration is the other SKU (Rivery under Boomi). It meters Boomi Data Units: 1 BDU per 100 MB on standard database and file replication, 2 BDU per 100 MB on log CDC. Application sources are 0.5 BDU per table execution plus 0.5 BDU per extra 50 MB. CDC is on every Data Integration edition; Oracle CDC is Enterprise only. Sync floors are 60, 15, 15, and 5 minutes by edition. Iceberg shows up as Snowflake MCP tools that create or refresh Iceberg tables in Snowflake, not as an Atom destination. This is not a Streamhouse. There is no Iceberg ∪ WAL.
Skippr is an open Streamhouse you run as one Rust binary. Write skippr.yml (or the same thing in Python), discover, sync. You query live state over Iceberg ∪ WAL, and the history is ordinary Iceberg in your bucket. No Message. ELT into a warehouse is one path, not the product.
| Feature | Skippr | Boomi |
|---|---|---|
| Deploy | Single Rust binary, your VPC or on-prem | Atom / Molecule / runtime cloud. Data Integration is SaaS |
| Schema | In-stream evolution, sibling columns | Process maps. Data Integration column mapping |
| Storage | Open Iceberg on Parquet you own | Target you wired. Iceberg via Snowflake MCP, not an Atom dest |
| CDC | Log-based; fails closed if the dest cannot honour | Data Integration log CDC (2 BDU / 100 MB). Oracle CDC is Enterprise |
| Query | skipprd query on Iceberg ∪ WAL; history in any Iceberg engine | Downstream after the process. Snowflake SQL if you land there |
| Pricing | Free self-hosted engine | Quote editions. PAYG is 99 USD/month plus 0.05 USD/Message. DI is BDU. |
What Boomi is good at
A process that already maps NetSuite to a warehouse and an API in the same Atom. That is the product. PAYG is why a team can start without an order form. Data Integration is why some estates treat Boomi as ELT: scheduled extract, BDU on bytes, CDC on the database SKU. If the job is "SaaS process plus a Rivery-shaped load," that is a real product.
Where the job is wider
Boomi is iPaaS plus a separate ELT meter. It is not a Streamhouse. There is no Iceberg ∪ WAL. There is no skipprd query on in-flight rows. The process ends; then you query the next system.
Two bills is the ops. Messages count documents. BDUs count megabytes. Connector seats on the subscription editions are a third knob. Iceberg in the Snowflake MCP connector is warehouse DDL, not a lake you own after the Atom.
Skippr will not run a Boomi process. Skippr also will not match the SaaS connector catalog or EDI. If the job is "iPaaS we already staff," Boomi is the narrower tool. If the job is live SQL on Iceberg you run, Boomi was never that.
Getting started
Install skipprd from the install guide, or pip install skippr. The three tabs write the same skippr.yml. Then discover, sync, and query.

skipprd query "SELECT count(*) FROM analytics.orders"Which to choose
Choose Boomi if you want Atom processes or Data Integration loads, and the next system after the process is enough.
Choose Skippr if you want one binary, live SQL, and Iceberg files that stay yours. Skippr will not run a Boomi process.
Install from Install. Connector and query reference live in Developer Docs. For optional onboarding in your VPC, Enterprise Jumpstart or Contact.
