Skyvia alternative — Skyvia vs Skippr
Skyvia is no-code SaaS for import, export, replication, and bidirectional sync. Data Integration is a separate product from Backup, Query, Connect, and Automation. Free is 10,000 records a month, daily schedules, two integrations that expire after 30 days. Basic is 99 USD a month (79 on annual) for daily runs. Standard is 199 (159 annual) for hourly runs and 50 schedules. Professional is 499 (399 annual) for one-minute schedules, Data Flow, and Control Flow. Extra records are 0.06 USD per thousand on Standard, 0.02 on Professional. Replication is incremental: SQL Server can use Change Tracking, everything else is timestamp-based. Skyvia themselves say they are not a streaming CDC tool, and schema changes are not detected automatically.
Skippr is an open Streamhouse you run as one Rust binary. Write skippr.yml (or the same thing in Python), discover, sync. You query live state over Iceberg ∪ WAL, and the history is ordinary Iceberg in your bucket. No record pack. ELT into a warehouse is one path, not the product.
| Feature | Skippr | Skyvia |
|---|---|---|
| Deploy | Single Rust binary, your VPC or on-prem | SaaS. Dedicated VM on a custom annual package |
| Schema | In-stream evolution, sibling columns | Manual mapping. Schema changes are not auto-detected |
| Storage | Open Iceberg on Parquet you own | Warehouse or database after the job. Backup is a separate product |
| CDC | Log-based; fails closed if the dest cannot honour | Incremental. SQL Server Change Tracking. Other sources use timestamps |
| Query | skipprd query on Iceberg ∪ WAL; history in any Iceberg engine | Destination after the load. Query product is 19 USD a month for unlimited runs |
| Pricing | Free self-hosted engine | Free 10k records. Paid plans from 79 USD a month annual. See their pricing. |
What Skyvia is good at
A free tier you can actually try, unlimited users and connections, and a UI aimed at Salesforce-to-warehouse and HubSpot-to-Sheets jobs. Replication can flag deletes or keep history if you choose. Backup, Connect (OData/SQL endpoints), and Automation are optional add-ons so you do not pay for modules you skip. For a small ops team that wants daily Salesforce replication without standing up a binary, that is a fair product.
Where the job is wider
Records are the bill. Free schedules die after 30 days. One-minute cadence is Professional. Reviewers mention error messages that do not say what failed. Transforms are mapping expressions and Data Flow, not a warehouse modelling layer.
Skyvia is not log CDC except SQL Server Change Tracking. The fastest published interval is one minute. There is no Iceberg ∪ WAL. There is no binary in your VPC unless you buy the dedicated-VM package, which is still their plane. Query of in-flight rows is not a Skyvia job.
Skippr will not give you Skyvia's Salesforce backup product or their Looker Studio connector. If the job is "daily SaaS replication on a 99 dollar plan," Skyvia is the narrower tool. If the job is live SQL on Iceberg you run, Skyvia was never that.
Getting started
Install skipprd from the install guide, or pip install skippr. The three tabs write the same skippr.yml. Then discover, sync, and query.

Choose Skyvia if you want no-code SaaS replication of Salesforce or HubSpot on a record-priced plan, and a one-minute increment is live enough.
Choose Skippr if you want one binary, no record pack, live SQL, and Iceberg files that stay yours.
Install from Install. Connector and query reference live in Developer Docs. For optional onboarding in your VPC, Enterprise Jumpstart or Contact.
